Schools

Our Lutheran Day School
has as its motto, the above Proverb.  Not only is Redeemer Lutheran School the best way to ensure that your child learns and studies the word of God, it is the best academic foundation you could give them!

Christian Education is one of Redeemer Lutheran Church’s primary missions.  In fact, it is so important that Redeemer Lutheran School warrants its own website, found at the following link:  www.rlschool.org/.

Sunday School

Sunday School
Classes are available for all ages from 3 to 103.
September through May we meet at 9:15AM.
June through August we meet at 8:30AM

Koffee Klatch
Join us in the Activity Center, Sunday mornings before Sunday School for coffee and goodies.  We have some talented and gifted bakers in our adult classes.
So….come and share in these wonderful goodies and fellowship before Sunday School starts.

Children and Teens
We offer individual classes for children ages 3 years to 5th grade, using the Sunday School material provided by Concordia Publishing House.  Middle School and High School teen lessons are both topical and Biblical.

Adult Bible Study
We offer 3 adult classes with rotating topics of interest and instructors on Sunday mornings, usually on an 8 to 12 week rotation.  There are also numerous other adult Bible studies offered throughout the week (during the day and in the evening) here at Redeemer.  Please watch the Sunday bulletins (or the website) for “This Week at Redeemer” for times and topics.

Mission Offering
Redeemer’s Sunday School is proud to sponsor a mission or missionary every six months.  We send a monetary gift from our mission offerings collected every Sunday.  Our most recent recipients have been Lutheran Bible Translators; Lutheran Braille Workers of NW Florida and Fred Reinhardt, a Lutheran missionary in South Africa.

Special Activities
1. Annually, our school children host special services, usually in September & December - where they share their faith!
2. In the fall of the year, right after school starts, we celebrate Rally Day with a picnic and festivities for the family.

Get to know us…. and let us…..get to know you!
See you in Sunday School

Sunday School 3Vacation Bible School is held in June of every year.

This is a great opportunity for your children (those entering 1st grade thru the 6th grade) to learn and grow in the Word through songs, praise and fellowship.

For the past 2 years we’ve offered our children the services of our Lutheran camps’ Traveling VBS (from Camp Dixie) and it has truly been a blessing for the children and all who work with us during that week of VBS. Contact the Church office for details and to register, as space is limited!

Ladies Bible Study
The Ladies Tuesday Morning Bible Study meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month at 9:30 a.m. in our Assembly Hall, and sometimes at our Meeting House.  We use a variety of topics for our studies.  Some studies are based on topics that will give women insight into God's Holy Word.  Others are based on helping women grow in faith and being ready to go out to spread the Good News that we have in Jesus.  We invite all ladies to consider joining us for our Tuesday study. Contact Karla Heinicke or Melanie Cole for further information.
Book of Concord Study
Faith EmblemThe Book of Concord is basically the book of Lutheran confessions.  It contains the writings of Martin Luther which address the theological errors of the Church in Martin’s day.  The practices that Papal Rome foisted upon the people were so egregious that Dr. Martin Luther challenged those teachings, using the Bible itself as his defense, sparking the Reformation!  The book contains the three Ecumenical Creeds: the Apostle’s Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed (and discussions on their meanings & applications); the Augsburg Confession; the Apology (defense) of the Augsburg Confession; the Small and Large Catechisms; the Smalcald Articles, the Treatise On The Power And Primacy Of The Pope; and the Formula of Concord.

Each month, the men of Redeemer and Immanuel Lutheran Churches meet to read and discuss a selected portion of the Book of Concord.  Pastors from each church lead the study and guide the lively discussions that stem from the material.  The two churches take turns hosting the study on the second Saturday of each month at 10:00am.  The study ends at 12:00pm and then the men adjourn to a local restaurant for lunch and fellowship.  Call or contact the church office to find out whose turn it is to host this upcoming second Saturday.  (Study is usually suspended during December, due to the busy Advent Season.)
Confirmation Classes
confirmation classes 2Confirmation classes are provided to students enrolled in our school.  The pastor teaches Luther’s Small Catechism to students in the 7th Grade.

This includes instruction in the six chief articles of the Christian Faith as taught by the Small Catechism:  The Ten Commandments, The Apostles’ Creed, The Lord’s Prayer, Baptism, The Lord’s Supper, and The Office of the Keys (Confession and Absolution – Forgiveness of Sins).  Upon successful completion of the material, and after examination, these Junior Confirmation Students are confirmation classes 3eligible to receive the Rite of Confirmation and join our church as full members.  Classes are also offered at various times for Jr. Confirmation students in the 7th and 8th grades who attend public schools, other schools, or who are home schooled.  These are scheduled on an “as needed” basis and usually conducted beginning in the Fall and concluding in late Spring.

Adult Confirmation classes are also offered at various times throughout the year, covering the same material from Luther’s Small Catechism.  Adult Confirmation classes usually run from 10-12 weeks, and are open to anyone and can lead to Adult Confirmation in the Lutheran Faith and full active membership in our church communion.

When & Where:  Every Wednesday, 6:30-8:00am at Denny's on Mobile Highway (across from Wal-Mart, next door to Waffle House).

Why:  God's Word nourishes our souls, just as the fruits of his bounty and goodly fellowship nourish our bodies.  Sometimes - no, all the time - we enter into lively discussions of current events and more.

How:  That is up to you!  Drive, carpool, ride a bike, walk, run or crawl but don’t miss the blessing you’ll receive by participating!

We've been at it nearly a dozen years.  During this time God has recalled several of the original group.  But it's conceivable that sooner than later we will have read the entire Bible together here at Men’s Bible Breakfast.  Won’t you come join us?

Redeember Lutheran Church Men's Group

The Men’s Group has as its objective providing a means for the men of the congregation to work together in fellowship to grow spiritually and to support the goals of Redeemer Lutheran Church and School.

The Men’s Group is open to all Christian men over 18 years of age and we welcome visitors to our regularly scheduled activities.

We are affiliated with the Lutheran Hour Ministries of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and have a charter as part of the Lutheran Laymen’s League, which has since been included within the Lutheran Hours Ministries structure.  The Men’s Group is registered as part of the MEN’S NETWORK:
Men's Network
Each third Saturday of the month, the Men’s Group has a breakfast meeting at the Church, beginning at 8:00 AM for conduct of business and a bible study, usually with DVD video presentation and guidance from the MEN’S NETWORK.

We support the Lutheran Hour Ministries goal: BRINGING CHRIST TO THE NATIONS AND THE NATIONS TO CHRIST”

Pastor’s Bible Study
Besides teaching a Bible class on Sundays at 9:20 am, Pastor Cole also teaches a small group class on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday afternoons of each month at 1:00 p.m. which are also held in our Assembly Hall.  This group gathers for Bible book studies, as well as for multi-session topical studies.  Past studies have included: Fruit of the Spirit, Christian Disciplines, Getting to Know the Holy Spirit, Angels, Heaven, The End Times, Characters of the Old Testament, Women of the New Testament, and Hebrew Wisdom and Poetry.  Anyone with the time and desire to grow in God’s Word is welcome to come and join us for coffee or tea, fellowship, and group study!
Wednesday Connections
During some of our Wednesday Connections,  we gather together for casual Bible study and small group sharing.

Sometimes we take on a short topical series, where the Bible helps us in dealing with modern subjects such as Coping with Stress or Living with Change.  At other times, we simply read through a section of the Bible, casually commenting on Psalms, Proverbs or Epistles in the New Testament.  We welcome you to join us in making a “connection” to God’s Word in the Bible along with God’s people in a small group setting!  (Please contact the church office for current scheduling.)
